Our new President, Don Raun opened the year 2001 with a general meeting welcoming all Computer Club members in the Abravenal Hall. Using our new projector and assisted by Rex Christensen, Don outlined the programs for the coming year and asked the membership to help in developing more training workshops.A questionnaire was handed out for all members to contribute their ideas on wants and needs of the membership.
Don also introduced the present Computer Club volunteers who have provided various training activities to invite the members to their particular sub-groups, including the newly formed Mac Group...
Over 200 members were on hand to kick off the new year...

April Meeting: On April 25th we had an excellent presentation!! Unfortunately, our scheduled speaker from MyIvan was unable to attend at the last minute, but fortunately, our resident computer gurus, Brown, Christenson, Raun, Travis and Weber saved the day by setting up a Question & Answer Panel.
Some of the interesting topics covered were creating folders, deleting "temp" files and various ways to assure fast and accurate downloads from the internet.

May Meeting
On May 23, Professor June Porto from Mira Costa College gave an excellent presentation on EXCEL. We learned how easy EXCEL is to use and the powerful tools that are available in this software.
Professor Porto teaches the EXCEL class and many other Computer classes, here in Oceanside and of course--ON-LINE--if you wish...
We thank June for taking the time to help our club learn about EXCEL...
June Meeting
Our own BOB WEBER made an excellent presentation on "Managing Your Email" in the June general meeting on June 27th. Another large crowd of eager email users questioned Bob for almost 45 minutes subsequent to his 50 minute presentation.
Another fine use of our projector and some live internet demonstrations of Web E-mail made for an interesting and educational day for the members.

September MeetingThe September 26th meeting was well attended. Dana Larrabee of California Inkjet, a division of Barcode Printers, Inc., gave an excellent and interesting presentation of how to put pictures taken with a digital camera on your computer. With this capability and/or a scanner you can make T-shirts, as two of the members easily showed us, along with the capability of making personalized mouse pads. There was also a demonstration on how to forward pictures by your E-mail. He also gave us tips on what criteria you need when you purchase a digital camera.
October Meeting
The October 24th meeting featured a panel of village experts answering questions from the audience. Don Raun, Dorothy Miller, Bob Weber, Terry Brown and Rex Christensen were on the panel. Everyone had a chance to get their favorite question answered by the panel. Don't forget next month will be Microsoft's new XP operating system and our annual election of officers.
November Meeting
The November 28th General Meeting was very well attended. The feature was a presentation of the new Microsoft operating system called XP. Dana Berkowski was the presentor from Microsoft Corporation. She gave us an excellent overview of the new features of this new operating system.Along with her presentation, she brought three products to be given away as door prizes. They were: Microsoft XP won by Floyd Cannon; Streets and Trips, won by Sam Zeiden; and Money 2002, won by Don Groll.
